Tokyo 7th Sisters Summary - SMILE Episode
Here is the summary of the whole chapter
Chapter 1 (First Half)
So one day, after the success of seventh haven and them climbing to fame, Nicole gather them on their mere two days off day before live to Nanasis dorm. Suddenly a girl came, saying she was told to come by her papa, an acquaintance of shodai shihainin. She was an orphan who just got foster parents but she just never smiles. No one knew of this request except nicole, who turned out accepted shodai shihainin's request to make the little girl smile (altho nicole also said that they might not succeed and can only do their best).
Memorun was displeased, she said "you have your strength, Nicole, but we cant save everyone" and told her they might instead deepen her wound, even if she would try as well but only until tonight and reminding nicole she had to accept the fact if they couldnt. And then they try to make her laugh by doing manzai (failed one), qruit cooking whatever mushroom she found, mito Rakugo (will explain rakugo later if u dont know).
Anyway those failed, and late at night Sakura the girl tried to runaway, but was stopped by nicole. she said, she should not be there since she was only making everyone troubled, even if she felt the time with them are very fun. Nicole ask her, "What do you want to do?" After telling nicole to not get closer and even throwing mud at her, sakura ran away. As she walked alone, she bumped into Memorun, who endlessly complained at what an idiot Nicole is, but also kindly gave Sakura some money to get by and also told her she had booked her hotel for Sakura and asked her to call her papa the next morning (while also saying, you're not special. There are dozens of orphan kids, Qruit is also orphaned and she had no memories of her parents nor have parents while Sakura has people who wants her to smile). Sakura asked her then why is she with those people she called idiot. Memorun answered that she would like to be beside a person, that despite all the strange look she got and all the hardships, remained to keep smiling the way she did. After that, Memorun went away, leaving Sakura.
Chapter 2 (Last Half)
The next day was live, Qruit never had live near the beach so she just went playing by the beach while Rui and Mana converses. Rui asked Mana about her "changing" since the last time they met, where she wondered if she has become "a good person" while also saying how the definition of "good person" is melting away their ego into part of the society, saying 'that can't be helped' endlessly and 'wisely' accepting situations. Rui said she would become a 'good person' as much as she could if she should, but she was worried of Nicole, and did not wish for Nicole to lose her wings, chipped by the society. Mana said Nicole wasnt that weak and that she would always be there beside Nicole no matter what, to soothe her broken wings. Rui asked if she could do the same, which Mana assured her she could.
In the venue, Nicole kept rehearsing the dancing and Mito confronted her about what she actually wanted to do, which was to be with Sakura and make her smile. Nico said she lack power, and repeated what Memorun said to her, their responsibilities: they are now 7th Sisters, they had staff and and they had fan, also the live today. Nicole said she called all of them together, because she wanted to remember how they were before the 7th of July, and wondered why Shodai shihainin took them. Mito pressed about Sakura, and said she would follow if Nico would and while Nicole saying her despair, she cut Nico off, saying then I will smile smile for you. I will be beside you and smile for you, until you remember how to smile. So please, stop crying alone where people can't see you.
Qruit came from the beach with Sakura who turned out came, and Sakura expressed how she wanted to change. Rui then took Sakura to the forget-me-not field and told Sakura her past.
Rui's father is a drunkard asshole, thanks to that her mother passed away while she was little and Rui was raised in orphanage when she was 7. And then her father's health deteriorated. She went to meet him, wanting to laugh at him, telling him "now you eat what you sow" , but when they met, her father was smiling and told her, I am sorry, please find happiness, which pissed her off. Why sorry then, of all time.
During that time when her feelings are ruined, she met the girl who is supposed to be someone she would hate most: a girl from wealthy family, who supposedly know no hardship, believe in the good of the world blindly. Yet that supposed girl was holding a flower, the same one with the one by Rui's father's, room. A forget-me-not, a flower you can find anywhere. She could have bought any flower she can but she was holding that common flower. Then they became friends, converses, And, from Rui's words, the one that reminds her of the most important thing even up to now (and stands by her side) is Mana.
She said, people change and changing was not at all a bad thing, as long as people don't forget the important things (in life?). Rui said, they might not be the strongest group in the world, but she was sure their live would be fun, and offered Sakura to watch, which she accepted. Rui phone Nico, informing her of Sakura, saying how she would be there with her father to watch their live. Fired up, 7th sisters live then begin with Sakura watching with her new father.
Mid-live, Sakura's new father asked her if she enjoyed the live, which she answered yes. A while later she called, "Dad, thank you very much" and hugged him, which surprised the father, who then commented how now, despite the awesome performance he could no longer see the stage (with his eyes blurred with tears, I think).
And 7th sisters continued to the next song

.... That is the whole 7th Sisters chapter which I remember
This new chapter of 7th Sisters I think has beenn heavily implied waaaay back in Sawori 2.5. when Sawori was down because what she believed in did not manage to make someone smile, Nico told her, does it have to be right then? Does the girl have to smile right away? What Sawori could do, was to wait and smile, so that when the time comes she could remind her how to smile again. I think that time Nico learned what to do also from Mito's words not exactly from "what she did herself" but Mito's "being beside you, smiling". Also during the same Sawori episode, Sawara expressed how Coney must have had hard times too and it was not all smiles and rainbows back in their time, which Coney confirmed, without denying her involvement with 7th sisters.
Also, from an interview:
"Motegi: we really think this illustration, as the story developed and goes on, there will be time in the future where the Shihainins look into the illustration and thought "Ah, so this picture has this kind if meaning.."
Also, another insight. In Rona episode 2.5, when Conney was by the river bank, she asked Shihainin, "What can one do, when a person beside them was trying to get over their limit and struggled?" She then talked to herself, "everyone, did I do well? It feels so lonely" which may indicate that what happened with Sakura, was not the end of their struggle (esp with assumption that they did not see Sakura smile in the end, since she did not smile btw, and the hug happened mid life)...
Also, there is no "Owari"/" The End" after [Smile] episode was over, unlike other episodes
