The Event Staff's Love As Felt by Those in Charge of Flowerstand Delivery

This is a translation of an article made by a flower shop staff to show how much love the Nijisanji Festival management has for the fans, that talk in detail of the workings and the many cares Nijisanji management gave in receiving fans' every flowerstand. The Event Staff's Love As Felt by Those in Charge of Flowerstand Delivery

Good day, this is Sakaseru staff, Koshiba.

I am usually in charge of design and development in Sakaseru and Minsaka, but I occasionally in charge of delivery as well. (By delivering, I will be able to get custumer experience and impression in full so it is useful for the service's design and improvement. Since it is also helpful for flower designer, so I had them delivered by myself).

Recently, on February 25 and 26, since Corona it was the first time for us to have flower delivery.

It's because Vtuber group "Nijisanji" was having their first large festival, "Nijisanji Anniversary Festival 2021"!!

The venue was Big Sight.

If we talk of large venues, I have delivered to Makuhari Messe and places like amphitheater, but this is the first for me to go to Big Sight. I has never been there in private, so I have a bit of worry, can I really be able to deliver them properly or if I won't get lost, with an image of visibly large venue.

Result was, there was no problem at all. Even, it was an important moment where I felt the event staff's enormous love, so this time I would like to talk about it.

*In this article, the Nijisanji sponsored "Nijisanji Anniversary 2021 Execution Commitee" will thus forth be mentioned as "event management".

 

Love in Receiving the Celebratory Flowers

The "Nijisanji Anniversary Festival 2021" (After this will be refer to as Nijifes), was decided on last year's September. During then celebratory flowers reception was an OK, but at the beginning of the next year due to the emergency state, around mid January the management announced "Reconsideration of event holding procedure".

Sakaseru already had a lot of orders for celebratory flowers during then, so we were extremely worried about how it would be. "If celebratory flower will be forbidden in event venue" "If the whole event itself will be cancelled", we had to predict numerous possible cases.

The one that we worried the most, at the brink of the event we cannot present the flowers. However, around 10 days after the "Consideration of event procedure" announcement, they announced "Changing to Online Event" and then "Regulation of Celebratory Flowers".

Due to the regulation changes, it is unfortunate that there are several customers whose flowers were unable to be displayed, but that too, in such troubling condition, within management's policy that tried to receive as many flowers as they could, is the first time I felt the love...

Celebratory flowers are merely something voluntary from fans and if we were to say it frankly, it is not something important to be had for event management.

More over, in a condition where the entertainment industry is wobbling under corona infection, it would have been way easier for event management to just restrict something not crucial for the event.

In a possibility of occuring cluster, we can imagine how difficult it is to make various decisions for a leading company in Vtuber agency Ichikara Corp.

However, even within that kind of situation, I can feel how from the attitude of the event management they embraced the feeling of the fans who "Want to show our feelings through flowers", and how "the listeners are loved by the management" and that "there are people who value celebratory flowers dear..."

(This decision could also because they take the flower shops into consideration... If that is so... Thank you very much!!!)

 

Love in Allowing A Long Period for Flower Delivery

This time, the delivery time decided under the regulation was

12:00-21:00 (Thu) Feb 25 2021
9:00-15:00 (Fri) Feb 26 2021

The delivery period for other event are usually just several hours on the day of the event, but this time they provide a really long period time within two days.

When I first confirm this regulation, the only thing in my mind is that "because this is a big event, they wanted to accept it all in their best condition".

However, at the day of the delivery as I went to the venue, even then I felt the love of the management.

Because the number of staff who accepts the flowerstands and backstage flowers were no joke.

There are a number of guards at the venue entrace leading the drivers, then a number of guards that accept at outside the venue, then there are staff that open the door when you go into the venue (because when you are bringing in the flowerstand you use both of your hands, having the door opened for you is a huge help), there are also staffs that disinfected and checked temperature, and some more staffs that guide to where to place the flowerstand...

And there I realized,"To secure this many human resources, for two days, in a very long time period, must have cost them a lot..."

It might have been necessary to have in order to accept flowers at an event as large as this one. However, as I mentioned earlier, celebratory flowers are not essential for the event management, and they could have cut cost by cutting the number of people for flower reception.

Yet, the management tried their best to accept the feelings of the best to the best of their ability, and this is why they established the system as it is. Here is where I, again, felt the love they have for the fans.

 

Love in Properly Setting the Reception Lines

This one, rather than love, it is more like I am moved by the excellent work of the management and staff. From the moment we got into the reception entrance, the directions of the security's guide right to the staff in reception and venue was so accurate, I managed to deliver very smoothly.

I went to deliver in both the 25th and 26, the entrance way to the venue in the 25th and the 26th differed, which made me think they organized things to the very detailed, and yet even if the direction changes, it is still veru easy to follow.

And then, the staff within in venue working closely with the reception staff outside of the venue, and I can feel their zeal in taking case of each flowers one by one seriously.

 

Love Felt in Their Greetings and Responses

The one where I felt the love the most, was in the staff's greetings and responses.

This is something that comes only from my personal experience, but to be honest, moments where flowers delivery were greeted without any welcoming atmosphere is more than half the time. Of course, in terms for event management and the one to whom the flowers are for, I believe they feel happy in getting celebratory flowers from fans. However in the field, most of the time the ones who receive the flowers delivery are mostly event staff from other company or part-timers, which meant it was just a "workload", and they accept it with the same kind of attitude. (Being treated as merely as merchant makes me feel lonely sometimes)...

However, the staff at Nijifes gave us greetings with smiles and pleasant responses, and when we crossed each other they talked to us with a "Good day", and us flower shops felt like we are being treated as "a part of the team who build the event together". I think that the event management who supervised those staffs must have treated the flowerstands and backstage flowers as an indispensible part of the event, and there again, I feel their love to the fans.

In Nijifes, celebratory flowers are treated as an important presence, and us, flowers shops, are also a part that help build up the event together. I managed to experience such joyous feelings.

I think there are very few instances for fans to get to know the staffs who work in the event's background.

This time, at the opportunity of delivering the customers' valued flowers, I managed to feel the love of Nijifes's staff and at the same time the love of the management. I wanted to deliver from the flower shop's view point, "This is just how much the management loves all you fans!", and thus I write this article.

I am writing this out of the experience in Nijifes, however of course, during delivery in other event, I have felt the instances where I can feel the love for the fans. If I have time, please allow me to tell them again.
